The first and main advantage of an air fryer is its speed: it heats up in literally 3 minutes, you can cook twice as fast as in an oven, and if you use baking paper, you won’t have to wash anything! The steak is air-fried until it is juicy and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. There are some little tricks that I will share with you for the perfect result.

Porterhouse Steak Recipe Ingredients and Substitutions:

Steak – I use 1.25″ thick striploin steaks — it’s our favorite cut of steak, but any will do! Remember if your steak is thinner it will cook more quickly.
This recipe can be used for ribeye steak and porterhouse. It is also important to keep in mind that steaks with bones take longer to cook.

Avocado oil – Beef is a fairly fatty cut of meat, but to get a rich, golden crust you need even more. I use avocado oil to grease the steak. It is suitable for cooking at high temperatures and creates an excellent crust.

Pepper and salt -I usually use a mixture of coloured peppers with coriander, this mixture creates a mild hot and spicy to the finished dish. Salt is usually pink Himalayan or sea salt. It has a less salty taste than regular salt. So if you use regular salt, you will need less.

Fresh thyme and garlic- for me, the classic steak flavor is impossible without thyme, I like to use fresh thyme, if you don’t have it, dried works well too. Roasted garlic adds flavor to the steak. It can be used for serving with garlic butter.

Butter – I use high quality unsalted butter and mix it with roasted garlic and fresh thyme, it takes your steak to the next level.

What is a porterhouse steak?

A Porterhouse steak is a large, high-quality steak that includes two tenderloins and striploins-also called New York strip-in one, divided by a T-shaped bone. It originates from the short loin section of the cow and has earned its good reputation because it combines a number of textures: one side tender and buttery, while the other is meaty and juicy. The steaks are best when cooked on either a grill or a cast-iron skillet for full flavor.
